What are jinn ?
Jinn, or jin (plural: jinnat), according to the Quran and Islamic texts, are creatures that were created “without smoke or fire”. Just like humans, they are masters of their own will – it is possible for them to choose their choice of food, drink, marriage and religion.
Jinns live in a parallel world. Like us, they too face life, death and the day of reckoning. But their powers are many times greater.

Jinns are mentioned almost 30 times in the Quran. Surah Al-Jinn (Surah No. 72) is completely about Jinns. According to the Quran:

Jinns were created before Hazrat Adam. Shaytan (Iblees) was also originally a Jinn who went against Allah’s orders and was punished.
